# Gyumono Japanese BBQ & Sushi The best halal Japanese BBQ experience in the city, and it's not really close. What makes Gyumono special is that the halal options aren't an afterthought — they actually have quality meats including ribeye steak and marinated cuts that are genuinely good, not the bland halal proteins you get at other spots. ## What to Order The halal ribeye and marinated meats are the stars — get as much variety as you can. The sides like sushi and sashimi are also really well done. And the grill rotation is handled properly (disposable grills changed throughout the meal) so there's no cross-contamination concern. ## Must Try The halal ribeye — it's a proper cut cooked over a fresh grill at your table. This is the experience. ## The Verdict One of my favourite spots in the city. Gyumono is comparable to Yubi in the Japanese BBQ space, which is high praise. The atmosphere is great, the servers are helpful, and cooking your own food makes it a social experience unlike most halal restaurants. Great for dates, family meals, friend groups — really any occasion. The halal BBQ scene in Toronto doesn't have much to compete with this.
