A listing is wrong, or a halal status has changed
This is the one we act on fastest. Suppliers change, kitchens change hands, and a certificate that was on the wall last year may be gone. If you know something on this site is out of date, tell us what you saw and roughly when. We re-verify in person before changing a listing, and the page notes the change once it is updated.

You can send us your current halal certificate, a supplier name, or a note that something in the review is factually wrong and we will look at it. What we will not do is remove or raise a verdict because you asked. Rankings are not for sale and never have been — see the Methodology page for exactly how a score is reached.

Send the name, the city, and what you would order there. We visit everything ourselves before it gets ranked, so a submission is a lead rather than a listing — there is usually a queue, and some places never make it past the visit.

For interviews, syndication, or a question about the display advertising that runs on this site, use the same address and say which it is. Advertising on the site is bought programmatically and has no bearing on any ranking or verdict.

If you want to know what data we hold, have it deleted, or believe a photo on the site is yours and should not be, write to us and say so plainly. Requests of this kind are handled directly by the site owner, not a support queue.

The Halal Hit List is published from Toronto, Ontario, Canada and covers halal restaurants across Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area. It is independently owned and operated — there is no parent company, no restaurant group behind it, and no investor with an interest in who ranks where.
Reviews are written under the pen name Sami Karim, which belongs to the site's founder and sole reviewer. The pen name exists so that restaurants do not recognise the reviewer on a visit; the person behind it is reachable at the address above and stands behind every verdict on the site.
Before you write about a listing, it is worth reading how a restaurant is scored and how halal status is verified — most questions about a verdict are answered there.
