Sami has personally visited and scored every restaurant on The Halal Hit List across Toronto, Mississauga, Scarborough, Brampton, Markham and the wider GTA — checking halal status on site, photographing certification where it's displayed, and returning at least twice before a verdict is finalised. The Halal Hit List accepts no sponsored placements, paid reviews or advertising from restaurants, so a Miss stays a Miss.
I started The Halal Hit List because every halal "guide" in Toronto was either a decade-old
forum thread or a list of places somebody had been paid to like. Neither tells you whether
the shawarma is actually any good, and neither tells you whether the beef is actually halal.
So the rule is simple: I go, I eat, I ask about the halal status at the counter, and I
publish the verdict — Hit, Solid, Decent, Borderline or Miss. Misses get published too.
That's the whole point.
Halal status changes when suppliers, owners or menus change. Everything here reflects what
was true on the visit, and it's always worth confirming with the restaurant before you order.
